Due to the increasing networking of vehicles and the resulting larger attack surface, the topic of cybersecurity has become considerably more important in the automotive industry. The AQI identified automotive cybersecurity as a key topic early on.
In cooperation with Fraunhofer FOKUS, the AQI has developed a process framework for the Automotive Cybersecurity Incident Response (Automotive CSIR). From this, we have derived both recommendations for decision-makers and for the Automotive CSIR team as well as a catalogue of questions for evaluating the Automotive CSIR capability.
The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) will adopt requirements for the cybersecurity management system in 2020, which will be obligatory for the automotive industry. The AQI provides scientific support to the VDA working group "Automotive Cybersecurity Management System" (CSMS), which is developing an auditable CSMS to meet the UNECE requirements.
